Move over Elvis impersonators &amp; gardening hour, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.helenpittgallery.org\/?page_id=3776\">our event <\/a>got no local coverage at all. Grateful to the &#8220;incomparably lively and thoughtful&#8221; LRB for embracing it.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll be writing more about the Cabaret (consumed with my novel edit) on this blog and am touched by the messages I&#8217;ve received from the small population who came out and supported it. \u00a0Thanks also to the performance\/visual artists <a href=\"http:\/\/leannej.ca\/\">Leannej<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccca.ca\/artists\/artist_info.html?languagePref=en&amp;link_id=10979\">Carol Sawyer<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/mynameisscot.blogspot.com\/\">My Name Is Scot<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jeremyisaospeier.com\/\">Jeremy Isao Speier<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/potluckcanuck.blogspot.com\/2011\/06\/which-riot.html\">Lori Weidenhammer<\/a> for engaging with my project and for their thoughtful, robust responses. And for the writers\/artists\/performers\/activists and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.solidaritynotes.ca\/index.html\">Solidarity Notes Labour Choir<\/a> who participated in the first Rereading the Riot Act event on April 23, 2011 at Victory Square &amp; Woodwards.<\/p>\n<p>We are instigating a panel discussion in conjunction with SFU Humanities I hope and there will be a publication from the project published this Fall by Publication Studio.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unit\/Pitt and Rereading the Riot Act II makes the London Review of Books.
