{"id":11468,"date":"2014-05-17T06:33:22","date_gmt":"2014-05-17T06:33:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/anakanaschofield.com\/?p=11468"},"modified":"2014-05-17T06:33:22","modified_gmt":"2014-05-17T06:33:22","slug":"hong-kong-weather-warning-symbols","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anakanaschofield.com\/website_66900629\/2014\/05\/17\/hong-kong-weather-warning-symbols\/","title":{"rendered":"Hong Kong weather warning symbols"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In honour of the blazing days we have been having here weather-wise: here are some fun weather views I&#8217;ve been appreciating.<\/p>\n<p>First &#8220;the brief description of warning symbols&#8221; from the Hong Kong observatory can be seen<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hko.gov.hk\/wxinfo\/dailywx\/warnlegend.htm\"> here\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>My favourite warning symbol is frost, but also enjoyed the multi-coloured rain warnings.<\/p>\n<p>I was looking at various weather symbols and charts online and noticed one instance, where the warning for fog was simply <strong>FOG<\/strong> in large black letters.<\/p>\n<p>Here is B<a href=\"http:\/\/i.telegraph.co.uk\/multimedia\/archive\/02506\/Barbara-Edwards_2506077b.jpg\">arbara Edwards, the BBC&#8217;s first woman weather forecaster, clutching some weather symbols <\/a>while doing a forecast for the BBC in 1974 and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/women\/9922423\/I-was-the-BBCs-first-female-weather-presenter.html\">here she describes the experience<\/a> in an interview. I love how people kept bothering her on her holidays!
