Reading up a storm of 70’s Canadian novels. The storm is about to get better. Acquiring two today I have been a-long-a-hunting for.

The woman who adopted my 1950’s chairs sent me another happy message last night about how well they look in her kitchen. In the message she wrote “I don’t want to be annoying…but I just wanted to tell you …”  It’s hard to imagine that delight over recycled kitchen chairs could ever be annoying so I asked her to send me a pic of them re-covered!  I gotta say I really do enjoy this recycling chorus. Jingle Jangle, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Just ran into our Mayor and had a lovely chat with him. Small male thought it was “cool” that he jumped on his bike and peddled off. I like our Mayor more since he started swearing and actively encourage him to keep it up!

After our brief chat, another group of locals, delighted in his passing and had a chat with him.

I previously met another Mayor and can report that the experience was less delightful. I also should add that I am perpetually moaning at our present Mayor about some civic gardening issues and he is always responsive and helpful.

The round off and back handspring are becoming unhitched alas. Something funny happened where I kept veering radically sidewards, left. Not the greatest night. Might have to defer the layaway til my fifties.

A woman came and collected my freecycling 50’s kitchen chairs. She was visibly thrilled at them which was a lovely sight. Vancouver is the most sensible place on earth when it comes to recycling as giveaway. No other city I’ve lived in had this tradition of giveaway and alley treasure.

If there were something to be said for size…

but there is not. Except the distance from my elbow to finger tip is identical to that of knee to toe. (right side only). Alas the rumour is the courgette (zuccini) will be tasteless.

Did the teapot really need a shelf of her own?

The labour to mount the thing produced more sweat than a 12 mile run.

She’s not showing quite the affection one gets after the 12 miler.

“I wonder, though, where it came from, this petty-bourgeois uptightness, this terror of not being in control, this schoolboy desire to boast and to shock.”

I have decided on a word I would tattoo on my arm, if the urge to tattoo struck me: It would be the word
