Terrible weather news from India with the onslaught of  Cyclone Phailin. Crawford Kilian (here is his bird flu blog), my favourite person on Twitter, has done an exemplary job blogging the arrival of Phailin and updating the implications of this wicked storm. Half a million people are displaced, The Guardian says. 

The wind speeds were 235KM p/hr. God help everyone trying to shelter from this storm.
